Responsible Disclosure
The process of notifying a vendor before publicly releasing information is a recognized standard best practice known as responsible disclosure. Responsible disclosure is important to the ecology of any technology. It allows companies like Dominion to better protect our users by fixing vulnerabilities and resolving security concerns.
We strongly encourage anyone who is interested in researching and reporting security issues to observe the simple protocols of responsible disclosure. Our Security team follows the same procedure when we discover and report security vulnerabilities to other companies.
People and organizations with an interest in security & usability issues have made a tremendous contribution to the quality of the Dominion voting experience. On behalf of our users, we would like to acknowledge the following individuals and organizations for their valuable assistance:
- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
- Election Assistance Commission (EAC)
- New York State Board of Elections (NYSBOE)
