High-resolution digital ballot imaging combined with the signed AuditMark cast-vote-record
Dominion ballot tabulators simultaneously scan both sides of the voted ballot and produce high-resolution digital images that are permanently recorded. These ballot images are analyzed for the voter's marks to produce a digital cast-vote-record (CVR) of the voter's choices. This plain text cast-vote-record is then linked to the scanned ballot images and digitally signed with Dominion's patent-pending AuditMark technology. There is never a question about how a Dominion tabulator has recorded a ballot, and the ballot images and AuditMark cast-vote-record can be reviewed at any time. Dominion brings the power of digital ballot imaging to the capture, recording and review of write-in candidate names, over-voted and other exception ballots.
A dual threshold mark recognition algorithm that recognizes ambiguous voter marks
Election administrators know that, unfortunately, not every voter marks their ballot with precision. Dominion's tabulators allow for the adjustment of the minimum thresholds at which a voter's mark is of both detected and counted. This dual threshold mark recognition algorithm ensures the "quality" of the voter's mark, flagging and preventing ambiguous marks and ensuring that the ballot will tabulate consistently. Precinct voters are alerted by the tabulator that their ballot has an ambiguous mark for a given office and are provided an opportunity to correct their ballot. Centrally tabulated ballots are flagged for manual review and adjudication. Dominion's dual threshold mark recognition ensures that all ballots are tabulated accurately and consistently.
These Dominion features, and many more, are designed to make your tasks easier and ensure the verifiable accuracy you expect from any modern voting system.
